Here at Jimmy Elias & Son, we are seafood processors who supply fresh and frozen seafood to customers around Australia, as well as to local customers from our retail shop (adjoining the factory). We are able to provide all our customers with a wide selection of fresh and local seafood, which is processed at our Royal Park factory.
All fresh fish is processed on the premises. Additionally, the SA crayfish and Blue Swimmer crabs are cooked on site. Jimmy’s vast experience in cooking seafood, means that the crayfish and crab are cooked to perfection.
The majority of fresh seafood is caught by local fishermen, in the beautiful South Australian waters. Jimmy also has his own shark & prawn licenses that works exclusively in the pristine South Australian waters. A large majority of the processed shark and prawns are supplied to Melbourne wholesale fish distributors, along with being available in the retail shop.
Jimmy Elias & Son Seafoods currently supplies fresh fish to local restaurants, fish and chip outlets, cafes, caterers and hotels. The main products wholesaled are flake (gummy shark), prawns, whiting, garfish, crayfish, crabs, calamari, oysters, and snapper. We know where our seafood is caught and farmed. This allows us to ensure that our local fish populations and their surrounding environments are maintained. Each of the fisheries that we work with is considered to be ecologically sustainable by Australian standards. Additionally, we seek to source seafood from fisheries that mainly catch their fish on a line, rather than net caught. We undertake an independent assessment of all of our products and continuously review the environment in which the fisheries, that we source from, operate in. This assessment includes the analysis of the specific fish stock, their health and what the fisheries implement in order to maintain their health.
